If you are driving from Lander, take US-287 North to WY-789 South. Continue on WY-789 for approximately 38 miles. Split Rock Pullout will be on your right, just past the Split Rock Interpretive Site sign. The pullout provides a scenic view and historical information about the area. Ensure your vehicle is fueled up, as services are limited once you leave the main towns.

From Riverton, take WY-26 West towards Shoshoni. From Shoshoni, continue on US-20/WY-789 South. After about 45 miles, you will reach the Split Rock Pullout on your right. This route takes you through some beautiful landscapes, so be sure to enjoy the scenery along the way.

Traveling from Rawlins, take WY-789 North. Continue on this road for approximately 22 miles until you see the Split Rock Pullout on your left. Rawlins has several gas stations and restaurants, so consider stopping there before your drive.

Currently, there is limited public transportation available directly to Split Rock Pullout. The nearest major bus station is in Rawlins. From there, you would need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service. Keep in mind that this could incur additional costs, and it’s advisable to check the availability of services in advance.
