Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Old City of Sana'a, start at Bab Al-Yemen, the iconic gate of the Old City. From Bab Al-Yemen, walk towards the main street (Al-Mahwit Street), keeping the gate behind you. After about 200 meters, take a right turn onto Al-Mahwit Street and continue walking straight. You will see the Sana'a Great Mosque on your left after approximately 300 meters. The mosque's grand entrance will be clearly visible, and you can enter the mosque from here.

    If you are near the National Museum of Yemen, exit the museum and head south on Al-Mahwit Street. Walk straight for about 1 km until you reach Bab Al-Yemen. From there, follow the previous instructions to reach the Sana'a Great Mosque.

    If you are at the Al-Saleh Mosque, exit the mosque and head north on Al-Saleh Street. Walk for about 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with Al-Mahwit Street. Turn left onto Al-Mahwit Street and continue for about 800 meters until you reach Bab Al-Yemen. From there, follow the directions above to the Sana'a Great Mosque.

    If you are at the Souq Al-Melh (Salt Market), exit the market and head southeast towards Bab Al-Yemen. Walk for about 400 meters, and once you reach Bab Al-Yemen, follow the instructions above to get to the Sana'a Great Mosque.
