Car
From Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage, head north on the main road (T4) towards Luanshya. Continue for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the junction to turn onto the road leading to Luanshya town. Follow the signs for Luanshya, and once you enter the town, keep left at the fork to stay on the main road. After about 5 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to Makoma Dam. The dam is located at VC48+HGV, so input this into your GPS for more precise navigation.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a minibus from the Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage area to Luanshya. Minibuses are usually available at designated pickup points. The fare typically costs around 20 Zambian Kwacha (ZMW). Once you arrive in Luanshya, you will need to take another minibus or a taxi to Makoma Dam. The taxi fare from Luanshya to the dam area may range from 50 to 100 ZMW, depending on negotiations with the driver. Ensure to inform the driver that your destination is VC48+HGV, Luanshya.

If you are staying close to the area around Makoma Dam, you may choose to walk. From Chimfunshi, head north on foot towards the main road. Follow the road signs directing you to Luanshya for about 30 to 45 minutes of walking, depending on your pace.
