Embassy Memorial Park: A Tranquil Oasis in Lusaka

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the city center of Lusaka, start by heading east on Independence Avenue. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass various shops and cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on your right, as it is a notable landmark. Embassy Memorial Park is located on your left at the intersection with Independence Avenue. Look for the entrance which is marked by a gate. The park is situated in the Cathedral Hill area.

• Public Transport (Minibus)

  From the main bus station in Lusaka, take a minibus heading towards the city center. You can ask the conductor for 'Independence Avenue' or 'Cathedral Hill.' Once you arrive, get off at the stop closest to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. From there, walk back along Independence Avenue for about 5 minutes, and you will find Embassy Memorial Park on your left side. The park entrance is easily identifiable.

• Bicycle

  If you are renting a bicycle, start from the central Lusaka area and head east on Independence Avenue. Maintain a steady pace as you cycle, and be cautious of traffic. The ride is approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will see the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on your right as a landmark. Continue cycling until you reach the entrance of Embassy Memorial Park on your left, just past the intersection with Independence Avenue.
