Walking
From the Hwange Main Camp, head south on the A8 Highway towards Bulawayo. Walk approximately 3 km until you reach the turn-off to the Mpongola Lay By, which is marked by a sign. Continue walking along the road for another 500 meters, and you will find the Mpongola Lay By on your left.
Bicycle
If you are in Hwange town, rent a bicycle and head towards the Hwange Main Camp. From there, take the A8 Highway south. Follow the highway for about 3 km, then look for the Mpongola Lay By sign on your right. It will be roughly 500 meters after the sign on the left side of the road.

Take a local minibus from Hwange town heading towards Bulawayo. Request the driver to drop you off at the Mpongola Lay By turn-off which is about 3 km from Hwange Main Camp. Once you alight, walk 500 meters along the road in the direction you were traveling, and you will reach the Mpongola Lay By on your left.
