    Because birding is Walter's life long passion his knowledge is fueled by his own desire to know, making him an expert birder of sounds, sights, habitat, behaviors, and history enabling him to share his vast knowledge on the spot. Walter studies the environment so he knows where birds will likely be, along with listening for song he is able to find birds consistently. His enthusiasm is contagious and left us wanting to consciously choose plants that supportes the local environment rather than just for looks. We are grateful he is willing to take us along on his walks and share his passion with the added benefit for him of being able to support his family. Win for us, win for him, win for the environment. Doesn't get any better than that!

    Our extremely kind and knowledgeable guide’s name was Maikol. He helped us identify many species of birds and took videos and photos with his spotting scope. It was an incredible experience. In addition, the tour was intended to be along the beach in Uvita. We had previously taken a naturalist tour in the same location. When we informed Maikol of this, he changed our tour location to the gardens and forests up above the town of Uvita to make sure we were able to see some different species. We really appreciated their flexibility and their willingness to change things up for our benefit. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone that loves birds. A phenomenal experience! Thank you Maikol!!!

    My partner and I went on a birding hike with Walter Sanchez and we were thrilled with the habitat and bird diversity that Walter pointed out to us. Walter found many birds that were singing quietly and difficult to see, including trogons and understory specialists. These are bird species I wouldn't have seen if I had gone looking by myself. This was one of the best birding hikes I've been on and would recommend it to anyone looking to see birds and wildlife in the area.

    We had a great time with Walter and Osa Nature Experts. Our three hour hike turned into five because we were enjoying ourselves so much. We spotted over 40 species including several that were endemic to the area and even some very rare species like the white-crested coquette. Walter was extremely knowledgeable and his enthusiasm was contagious. He offers a wide range of guided tours. If you planning a visit I definitely recommend reaching out to Walter so he can tailor your tour to match your needs. Looking forward to our next trip!
