We'd had driven the rim a few years ago but wanted to do a tour of the canyon. This was PERFECT. We enjoyed every second of our time in the canyon. We booked a few months out and there were 4 of us. We added an additional hour, so booked a 4 hour tour. Suggest you do this too if at all possible. The information in advance of tour was very informative and helpful. They met us in our hotel lot about 10 minutes before our set tour. BUT the BEST part of our tour was our guide. We were SO lucky to have Jarvin as our guide. He was born and raised in area and just LOVES what he does and is a wealth of knowledge. He shard many of his Navajo stories with us including tradition Navajo language words for different things. We saw lots of petroglyphs, we saw many cliff dwelling and Navajo ruins. He stopped along the tour many times and he was so informative about what we were seeing and experiencing. This tour was worth every penny. Thanks Jarvin for a great tour...

The travel through the river in a huge SUV was just the beginning of the fun! Our guide, Arica, was leading only her 2nd tour, but came armed with tons of interesting facts. Our only wish was that we could have had an open-topped vehicle so that all 4 of us could the beautiful canyon walls. We stopped at many different ruins, happened upon another tour that gave us a treat of music in echo canyon and offered an opportunity to shop for beautiful hand-crafted jewelry and paintings.

Our tour with Reginald was simply incredible. He is a fantastic guide! The canyon is spectacular and so peaceful - words can't do it justice. Reginald gave us in-depth insights to the history and culture of the canyon and the Dine. We couldn't have asked for more.

Jarvin Yazzie was our tour guide for a 3 hour, 8AM tour. We found Jarvin to be exceptionally knowledgeable, and a very skilled driver! His love of the canyon and pride in being Navajo added to our trip.

My husband and I were guided on a tour of the canyon by a wonderful guide, Reggie. We highly recommend this experience as it was a very special 3 hours. The stories, the flute playing, and the history were poignant. We are so glad to have experienced Reggie’s love of this canyon.

My wife and I took the 3 hour public tour. As it turned out we were the only passengers so in reality it was a private tour. Our guide was Jarvin Yazzie who was terrific. We were joined by his sister Erica who was in training to be a guide. Her contributions added to the tour. While in the canyon we saw many Navajo and Hopi ruins as well as petroglyphs and pictographs. Jarvin explained the meaning of these drawings and symbols. He also gave in much detail the history of the canyon floor and the Navajo people. We have taken many tours in our life but this was our favorite ever. Strongly recommend.

We spent a beautiful rainy afternoon with Reggie as he artfully navigated the rushing creek while giving us a personal and historical perspective on Canyon de Chelly. The changing weather made for spectacular lighting and the wet rock faces highlighted both petroglyphs and ruins. My wife and I had high hopes for this visit and were a bit apprehensive due to the weather, but…it far exceed all expectations. Thank you Reggie for sharing your beautiful canyon with us!

This tour surpassed our expectations. Our guide Reginald grew up in the canyon. He shared his incredible knowledge of the history and culture of the canyon and what life was like. He is the only guide who plays the flute and did so in several echo canyons. Truly amazing and don't miss this, you will remember this experience for your lifetime.

We had an incredible experience with Canyon de Chelly Tours! The 3 hour private tour was an unforgettable experience, the best way to see the canyon and its treasures. The description on the website prepared us for the tour. The river was running high due to snow melt, and the Park Service issued a statement that it would cancel tours (which they did two days prior to ours) if the water level was deemed unsafe. I called Tanya the morning before our afternoon tour, and she was very candid about the uncertainty of the situation. However, she kept us informed, and our tour did run as scheduled. Our vehicle was a four door Jeep. The absolute highlight of the tour was spending three plus hours with our guide, Percy. Growing up in the area, he shared some life experiences in the canyon as he spent many summers there on family property. His stories also gave us a glimpse of the Navajo way of life, for which we are very grateful. We highly recommend the private tour with Canyon de Chelly Tours.
