    I gave this 4 stars because while the view was excellent, the water amazing and the experience nice, the first part before and after the lagoon is awful. While there are separate ladies and gents rooms, there are no private changing rooms or stalls in the ladies area, you literally have to strip naked in front everyone to get your bathing suit on and off again and get dressed to leave the compound. You are basically fully naked in front of other members of your bus tour. On a good note, kids below a certain age are not allowed so it made it a very relaxing and peaceful experience for those in the water.

    We had to cancel due to wife being diagnosed with Covid. Viator denied refund or credit even though we had been using them for years.

    After trying the Blue Lagoon our group decided to try the much newer Sky Lagoon with its Seven Step Ritual. This was a very enjoyable experience. Because Sky Lagoon is new it has a luxurious feel to it. Also, the individual service level is very high which just adds to the feeling of luxury. While I enjoyed the overall experience a lot I did identify two shortcomings. (1) The water is heated but is not mineral water. (2) Steps 3 thru 7 take place in a very compact area with people transitioning between these steps passing through the same central area which, therefore, gets very crowded. It is like a hub and spoke set up rather than a linear structure. All in, I will return again if I return to Iceland.
