Here, you’ll also see the residence of the Living Goddess Kumari, a unique cultural tradition. Kathmandu Durbar Square is a historic palace area in the heart of the city. You can visit the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Museum, see the living goddess Kumari, admire temples with amazing wood carvings, and enjoy street performances. Don’t miss the local markets and hidden courtyards nearby. It's a great place to learn about royal history, architecture, and daily Nepali life.
Swayambhunath
From kathmandu Durbar Square, you'll drive up to Swayambhunath Stupa (commonly known as the Monkey Temple), an ancient Buddhist shrine perched on a hill offering panoramic views of the valley. Swayambhunath Stupa, also called the Monkey Temple, is one of the oldest and most important religious places in Nepal. It sits on a hill in Kathmandu and gives a beautiful view of the city. The big white dome and golden tower have Buddha’s eyes painted on them, showing peace and wisdom. People believe the stupa appeared by itself when Kathmandu was still a big lake. Both Buddhists and Hindus come here to pray. The temple is also home to many monkeys, which are seen as holy. It is a peaceful, spiritual place and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Patan Durbar Square
From Swyambhunath, we will visit Patan Durbar Square, known for its exquisite Newar architecture, stone sculptures, and ancient temples. Found in the city of Lalitpur (Patan), this square is known for its fine Newari craftsmanship, with stone and metal statues, temples, and palace buildings. The Krishna Temple, made entirely of stone, is a masterpiece of Nepali architecture. Patan is home to the beautiful Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with ancient temples, palaces, and statues. The city is known for its skilled artists, especially in metal and woodwork. Patan is a peaceful place where Hinduism and Buddhism blend together, making it a unique and spiritual destination for visitors from around the world.
Step back in time in Bhaktapur, a city that feels like an open-air museum. The square has traditional buildings, pagoda temples, and peaceful courtyards. Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a beautifully preserved medieval city where you’ll walk through narrow alleys, see the 55-Window Palace, and marvel at the towering Nyatapola Temple, Pottery Square, where we can see beautiful products. We will have a lunch at Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is a historic city east of Kathmandu, known for its well-preserved temples, courtyards, and traditional Newari culture. Its heart, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, is filled with beautiful pagodas, statues, and palace buildings. Visitors can enjoy pottery-making, taste local snacks like Juju Dhau (king curd), and explore centuries-old art and architecture. It feels like stepping back in time.
Changu Narayan Temple
After lunch at Bhaktapur, continue your cultural journey to Changu Narayan Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in Nepal, situated on a quiet ridge with great views and ancient stone inscriptions. This is the one of the oldest Hindu temple in Nepal, located on a quiet hilltop. It’s known for its beautiful wood and stone carvings and ancient inscriptions that tell stories from over 1,500 years ago. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a peaceful place surrounded by forest and villages. The temple showcases beautiful stone carvings and ancient inscriptions. Visitors can hike or drive up and enjoy a mix of history, culture, and scenic views of the Kathmandu Valley.
Boudha
From Chagunarayan Temple, we will visit Bouddhanath Stupa. One of the largest stupas in the world, where Tibetan Buddhist monks chant prayers and spin prayer wheels. It’s surrounded by colorful monasteries, shops, and cafes, making it a beautiful and spiritual spot to visit. Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world and a sacred place for Tibetan Buddhists. Located in Kathmandu, it has a huge white dome and golden spire with Buddha’s eyes looking in all directions.
