    This tour was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide was so awesome and my 8 year old loved her. She made our travel time go by so fast with kanji review for my son and taught him how to make Pokémon origami. Her English was excellent and She knew all the history due to growing up in Kumamoto area. She was energetic and was so fun to be around. Mieko San was amazing and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. I can’t wait to come back and ask for her for a Kumamoto city tour.

    We had a great day thanks to the guide Mizu and the driver. This is a great way to explore the region. They were very knowledgeable, being locals, they know the history, the area and give good recommendations. We started with the former Aso campus of Tokai University to see the extent of the 2016 earthquake. If you are an amateur there is the Robin statue of the anime one piece. After we went back to the crater of Aso to go to Mount nakadake and see its crater, there was a lot of mist that day, but the atmosphere was surreal we thought we were on another planet with the shelters and plains Kusasenri in front of the volcano museum. Then we went to a bbq (yakiniku) style restaurant with local meats, it was really delicious and the atmosphere warm. What was nice about our guide and driver was that he gave us plenty of options to choose from depending on the time we had and the budget. Then we went to a small shrine from which we could see the clear waters surface from the bottom. Then head to Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu shrine (for fans of the film Rurouni Kenshin or the anime Hotarubi no Mori e). Just superb, I love the lanterns covered with moss and of course the stairs to climb:), moreover if you go past the shrine you can go up to a giant stone and listen to the guide tell how the rock was pierced. After heading towards the Takachiho Gorge, we could not go around by boat because we booked our last minute tour, but it was really better to walk along the Gorge, we could go further. After this walk we still had time so we could go to the garden of Kumamoto to visit the exhibition in light on Gracia. Really a memorable day thank you very much!

    This private tour was the best day tour we've experienced! Guide Mieko was very friendly, gracious, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Driver Ogino-san was a great driver. We enjoyed the beauty of the Mt. Aso caldera and of theTakachiho Gorge and surrounding area. The included lunch was one of the best meals that we've had in Japan and the included boat ride was a lot of fun. When we booked this tour, we thought it would be a long day, but it didn't feel like it because we had such a wonderful time with Mieko and Ogino-san! We highly recommend this private day tour.

    Mount Aso was interesting and Takachiho Gorge was gorgeous. That area was pretty and it was nice to get out in the countryside. Our guide was well organized and informative and friendly. She kept us on pace which was appreciated because it allowed us to cover a lot of ground. Meeting her was one of the highlights of the tour. The tour exceeded expectations and worth the money. And lunch was really good.
