    1. A rare spot with panoramic views of North Korea It was very impressive to see the view of North Korea directly from here. The cityscapes and buildings we could see in the distance were real, and it was time to reflect on history and international affairs. 2. Observation deck offering a glimpse into North Korean life With a telescope, you can clearly see the villages and fields of North Korea. It was interesting because it is a scenery that you can't usually see. 3. Where to feel borders The scenery in front of you has a special atmosphere that is different from just an observation deck. By actually being able to see North Korea, I was able to realize the geographical proximity. 4. Not only sightseeing, but also learning about history The view from the observatory is beautiful, but it made me think more about the significance of this place. I think you can understand it better by listening to the local commentary. 5. A Strange Sense of Foreign Lands Unlike other tourist destinations, it is very unique in that you can see the scenery directly across borders. It was a place that made me think about the importance of peace again.

    Stella did an outstanding job in allowing me to dive into the history as well as modern-day culture on our way to the Aegibong Peace Eco Park. As I was on the tour by myself that day, we had lots of time to chat and for her to customize my experience, as I was quite interested in the history of the North and South Korean conflict. Moreover, Stella told me facts in addition about Aegibong and its development that I found very insightful. The cafe at the observatory proved very welcoming as it was a snow day in the middle of March, which gave everything a very unique atmosphere. I definitely recommend to go on a tour with Stella again - she is very caring and knowledgeable and shares her personal insights, which makes such a tour much more relatable.

    SHIN is a new guide but he did not like that. Very knowledgeable and kind personality too! The place is very interesting, a new dimension of the buffer zone and the relation of the countries... My thought was - what if the 2 nations would share a coffee and just chat together in that Starbucks? That would be nice! Just like Esztergom and Parkany, which also have just and river (and for now a bridge) between them. Let love build a bridge between the 2 Koreas too, would be nice to see!

    This was a wonderful experience ! North Korea is clearly visible on a sunny day. The whole area around the observatory and peace park is lovely . Thanks to Thomas our wonderful guide ! He explained everything politely and patiently . Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see North Korea and not spend a whole day .

    My brother-in law and I enjoyed Thomas as our tour guide. He gave us interesting insights about the DMZ zone and shared his personal experiences of being a South Korean in the context of how the devision of his country has impacted his family generationally. He’s very generous with his time and stayed with us the entire tour to answer questions. The tour was well organized with easy pick-up and transportation to and from.

    Aegibong Peace Eco Park

    Aegibong is famous for the place where displaced people often visit. After the Korean War, many displaced people missed their homes and visited Aegibong to see their hometown. Also, famous for the Starbucks cafe on the observatory now. The old observatory was established in 1978, but was demolished and it was renewed by the name of Jogang observatory where you can see the northern land from the closest distance. Used to known with a huge Christmas tree, but Christmas lights were too bright to N. Korea and it caused conflict due to lack of electricity in N. Korea. The tree was removed, but Aegibong Peace Ecopark workers built the bridges in shape of the tree. This Ecopark is a symbolic place representing peace and harmony.
