What to expect
Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff is a volcanic rock formation (columnar-jointed lava) at the southern coast of Jeju Island. The cliff was formed when the lava from Hallasan Mountain flowed into the sea of Jungmun. The lava formed many hexagonal-shaped rocks that resemble columns of geometric shapes. There is a scenic 20m (66ft) tall rugged cliff that is popular for viewing. The cliff is well known for its stunning waves which dramatically crash up against its pillars during high tide.
Yakcheonsa Temple
Yakcheonsa Temple offers stunning art and architecture, elevated gardens and panoramic views of the island's coast. Yakcheonsa is not an old temple as it was only recently built in the 90s. It was built in the style of Buddhist temples of the early Joseon Dynasty. The main hall is massive and there are claims that it is the largest in East Asia. Inside the temple, you'll be stunned by the statue of Vairocana, which stands 5 meters high and is surrounded by altar portraits of Buddha. The temple is also built into natural rock caves, and the main hall features 18,000 Buddhas. Outside the temple, you can witness a gigantic bell that weighs 18 tons.
Seogwipo Jeongbang Waterfall
Jeongbang Waterfall is one of Jeju Island’s most popular attractions. It’s famous for being the only waterfall in Korea that drops directly into the ocean. The waterfall itself is an impressive site. It’s 23 meters tall, and the water pours off the vertical cliffs on the Seogwipo coast. Depending on rainfall around the time you visit, it can be either a single stream of water or multiple streams crashing over the cliff. The area at the bottom of the waterfall is just as eye-catching. It’s a small beach filled with large rocks that you have to climb over to get to the falls. It gives it the area an almost prehistoric atmosphere. Strike a post on a rock in front of the waterfall for an impressive picture of your Jeju trip.
Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market is the largest market in Seogwipo. It is a traditional market that was formed in the early 1960s and is a mainstay in the Seogwipo economy. It is often called the top tourist destination in Jeju. Visitors can get a glimpse of everyday life in Jeju here and purchase a variety of foods like agricultural and fisheries products and souvenirs. “Maeil” means "permanent," and “Olle” is a Jeju language for a narrow alley, typically referring to a narrow path that leads from a main road to the entrance of a house. In downtown Seogwipo, not so far from the Maeil Olle Market, there is also the Seogwipo 5-Day Market, which opens every five days.
Oedolgae Rock is a 20-meter tall basalt rock which stands on a beautiful shore in the southern Seogwipo. It was named Oedolgae Rock meaning Lonely or Independence Rock since it is isolated far from the land and located in the middle of the sea. It is a strong rock carved by wave and wind erosion so it is called a sea stack geologically. This natural wonder serves as a picturesque photo spot and also offers trails for trekking. This place was one of the shooting spots of the drama series "Jewel of the Palace.“
At a Tangerine farm you can step into rows of tangerine trees laden with fruits, green or yellow, and enjoy picking tangerines. Jeju Island is home to a variety of tangerines and tangerine farming is among main industries for Jeju Island. When tangerines get ripe, all of Jeju Island is colored yellow except in city centers. Harvest season is from about October to February. You can also get fabulous pictures of you while picking tangerines in the farm.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
