What to expect

After getting to know the herd and getting information about alpacas and their special features, 2 - 4 animals are haltered and led by the participants. We hike out of the village, through fields and meadows. The animals determine the running pace. Here you can switch off from everyday stress and consciously perceive the nature and behavior of the alpacas. Sometimes you can even listen to the alpacas' spoken language. The hike takes 60 to 90 minutes. Afterwards you have the opportunity to stop off at the Buchholz Saloon (opens at 12 p.m.). For “knitting babies” there is a small selection of wool from our alpacas that has been processed into knitting yarn. Dogs are not allowed on the hike. Please note that, in our experience, an alpaca hike is not suitable for children under 10 years of age. We have therefore set a minimum age of 10 years for accompanying persons.
