Great experience. Elvin was a great guide and was very knowledgeable. He was very laid back and funny and really made my day enjoyable. Altun Ha was nice to see and seeing the monkeys up close was something I won't forget. Our guide Robert at the sanctuary told us we don't always see the monkeys but he was able to find them and even get them howling my mimicking their noises.

Not great value for money as USD 135pp was just for transportation. Although our tour guide waa good, and altun Ha part good, the Howler Monkeys experience waa disappointing overall....

I very much enjoyed my visit to Altan Ha with the guide David. I was the only person on the tour so I was able to ask David as many questions as I wanted. Our arrival time at Altan Ha was perfect as the buses of cruise ship passengers were leaving as we arrived so we were able to explore the ruins at a leisurely pace without crowds. Davis shared the story of the Mayans and the history of Altan Ha. There was time to climb all of the temples where this was an option.
The visit to the Howler Monkey Sanctuary was very fun! After a short walk through the forest, we found a family of monkeys in the trees, including a young monkey who was curious and approached us so we were able to get a good look at her. Mom and Dad were not far away and kept watch so I got a good look at them also.
I highly recommend this tour! David was an excellent guide and I very enjoyed my day!

Norman was an incredibly knowledgeable guide. The archeological site was rather small but very interesting and we nearly had it all to ourselves. On the way we were even able to try some local fruit wine and get some fruit. The monkey sanctuary was also quite nice. Only walked around 10minutes until we spotted a small group of them. Make sure to bring your insect repellant!

Altun ha was great experience especially once you climb the steps to top of temple. Herbie was great guide, very informative, friendly and knowledgeable. Howler monkey sanctuary was less appealing, another guide named Russell assisted him there and after walking around for an hour listening to his calls, saw few monkeys but far up in tree and not much noise. Good experience and weather all in all.
