What to expect
You’ll be picked up by a trusted local tour guide and driven to the Camel Camp, where you’ll be greeted by one of the Bedouin. You’ll be offered authentic Arabic coffee and tea and have a chance to relax and get to know your host. Sharing coffee is an important symbol of hospitality in Qatari culture, so think of it as a very warm welcome! After, you’ll visit the highly regarded animals of the community–camels and goats! You’ll get to see how the camels and goats are milked, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even milk a goat yourself! Talk about a hands-on experience! After learning about the animals, you’ll get to relax again in the tent and drink some of the fresh milk. This is a perfect time to take in the beautiful sunset and capture amazing photos. Then it’s time to prepare dinner! We’ll make majboos–a traditional Arabic dish consisting of spiced rice and meats(camel, lamb, and chicken in this case). You can opt to have any combination of the meat, or none at all if you prefer a vegetarian diet. Over dinner, you can learn about Bedouin culture and enjoy the starry sky before heading back to the city.
