ATV & UTV Bonaire Off-Road

Recently returned from Celebrity cruise, 8 day, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao itinerary. The cruise excursion on app was listed as “Small Group: ATV East Coast Road Adventure Kralendijk, Bonaire”. BOOK THIS!!! It was operated through Rento Fun Adventures and our guide was (honestly I don’t know if he said Nixon or Dixon, apologies), but he was awesome! I was a little nervous at first because it was my first time on an ATV, but now I’m hooked! Actually, it was the first time for most people in our group, nevertheless our guide maintained a pretty good, fast pace. Best part of my cruise! Tip: Our weather was hot, dry, very dusty. Bring goggles to go over your helmet if you own them. We bought them at the excursion (they had goggles/bandanas for sale), so now I have a cool souvenir. Lots of people wore regular sunglasses, but I’m sure it didn’t help with the wind/dust. I happened to bring my simple cloth Covid mask, elastic behind the ears, and it stayed on perfectly with the helmet and was easy to take on and off during the stops (so I skipped the bandana). The tour of the bat cave was great as well. I wish it were longer than 2.5 hours. BOOK THIS if you get a chance!

We weren’t sure what to expect on this excursion but the dune buggies were so much fun to drive! It’s very dusty though so we had to keep back from the one in front of us. We went off roaring to a cave, saw bats and crabs, then to the eastern coast to the lighthouse. It was like driving on Mars. So rocky and flat. Unbelievable experience. Bring your drivers license or you can’t drive one. Well worth it!

Horrible experience, start location (new?) was in the middle of the Landfill of Bonaire. My cruise friends and I did really not like it.

The tires on my atv were so bald, one went flat mid trip delaying everything. At one stop the workers just got on their phone instead of offering to take pictures or give information. To be fair, I was the only person in this tour since I was the only one who signed up. There are a lot of mixed reviews on here and it sounds like those that didn't enjoy their tours were people who wanted to have more fun on the ATV/UTVs and were stuck in groups that could have had a lot of cruise ship attendees. If you're someone who wants to go a little quicker, I would recommend not booking this while the cruise ships are docked. That being said, my experience was amazing since we could go at a pace that I enjoyed. I could also ask all the questions I wanted and we stopped to look at things like the donkeys and whatnot because I wanted to. The tour consisted of a stop at a cave system with a history of it and a stop at an old lighthouse. Nixon was an amazing tour guide! He was so knowledgeable on the areas and he was very patient and aware of where I was when driving the ATVs.

We had an amazing time! The gentlemen who runs the operation (Nixon) is awesome and he is a true professional. The ATV's were in excellent condition and the experience was wonderful. We were able to ride throughout the vast wilderness on the coast with AMAZING views of the shoreline, the caves, and the unique geography. If you go to Bonaire, I highly reccommend this experience.
