What to expect
The tour starts at the Vracar plateau, where you will see one of the most important sights that Belgrade has to offer – Saint Sava Temple, the second largest Orthodox church in the whole Europe with stunning crypt and main dome filled with mosaics. Our guide will tell you the story about the first Serbian Royal family and the first Serbian Archbishop named Rastko Nemanjic. On the same plateau you will see as well the statue of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest scientists of all time, and the building of National Library, built during the WWII.
Trg Slavija
The tour continues to Slavija Square, named after one of the oldest hotels in Belgrade, built in 1888. This is one of the biggest squares in Belgrade, where 7 streets are crossing. Here our guide will tell you captivating story about Belgrade Phantom. After Slavija Square, we proceed to King Milan Street and one smaller, but charming square called Flower Square with two important cultural buildings for Serbians. First one, is Yugoslav Drama Theatre rebuilt in 2003, and the second one is Students Cultural Centre, where the first rock and roll performance was held in Belgrade.
Crkva Svetog Marka
Resavska street will lead us to St. Mark Church, located in second largest park in Belgrade called Tasmajdan park. Towards the main city center we’ll pass by some significant governmental buildings such as the Serbian National Parliament, the Old and the New Palace.
Terazije Fountain
On our way to the main Republic Square, we will pass by two more smaller squares named Nikola Pasic Square and Terazije Square with the most beautiful hotel in Belgrade, hotel “Moscow”.
On the Republic Square, which is considered to be the main meeting point in the city itself, you’ll see National Theatre, National Museum and the monument dedicated to one of the greatest Serbian rulers prince Mihail Obrenovic.
Knez Mihailova
Afterwards, we take a stroll through Knez Mihailova street, main walking and shopping zone. This crowded and lively street will lead us to Kalemegdan/Belgrade Fortress.
Last stop will be Kalemegdan fortress, dominant Belgrade attraction. It is considered to be the museum on open air built between the 1st and 18th century and besieged more than 100 times. The Fortress itself is divided into Upper and Lower Town, with many attractions, from Roman Well, Nebojsa Tower, Military Museum to Victor Monument – main symbol of the City of Belgrade.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
