What a great day! First stop was Marocan Switzerland. Weirdly European place, good to stretch the legs and drink coffee. Not that special but it gets you from the city vibes to the countryside. After we went to see monkeys and had a fantastic horseback ride in the Middle-Atlas. What a magnificent place! Our driver Yassine was friendly and fun to be with. All in all a fantastic day and dito experience!

While I was unfortunately the only person on the tour, it was made better by the company of my driver Badr. He made the journey between stops quite enjoyable and while the company doesn’t promise a “professional guide” he certainly provided some good information for my education. It greatly personalized the experience.

Nasser picked us up from our hotel at 10am and took us to see the Middle Atlas area near Fes on a relaxed and culturally enlightening day trip. The day provided a refreshing contrast to the confined bustle of the Fes Medina. We particularly enjoyed the views over the mountains and visiting Berber cave dwellings in Immouzer. After the tour Nasser took us back to Fes, and took us to the Royal Palace, to a panoramic viewpoint over the old city and to a ceramics cooperative completely free of charge, and these were some of the best parts of our holiday to Fes.
