    Tour was advertised as a bus tour, however due to taking too many bookings the operator engaged a limousine & driver which was a totally unacceptable vehicle for distance driving & sightseeing, very claustrophobic indeed. Air con was not working so had to drive with windows down. No commentary as audio system was not working. After having travelled along way along the Cabot Trail we questioned the driver as to the tour locations we had booked for. Turns out he was briefed incorrectly!!!!! Hot footed to Baddeck & had just 10 minutes there for a toilet stop only & completely missed Iona. Company needs to ensure driver is adequately briefed of tour specifics.

    We had a really good experience. I use a wheelchair and they were very very accommodating. Every time I called they responded right away before the excursion. We were in a Cadillac SUV which was comfortable. They had water for us which was amazing. They were running a little behind bc of the cruise ship schedule and they even treated us to coffee. Driver was a local and knew places to stop. Every stop was great. It is a longer day just a the nature of the drive so look into it if it’s what you want to do. We really did have fun

    Brett, our driver, was very friendly and accommodating. He provided water and snacks. However he was not a trained tour guide. At 1:00 AM the night before, we were informed by email that because of overbooking, we were switched to a stretch limousine. Only 4 seats faced forward,, two seats faced backwards and the others faced to one side. You could not see many sights. There was no air conditioning, only two windows could open. We made all the designated stops. Because of the late notice, we could not cancel with a refund. In my opinion, that was a very calculated move. We feel that there should be compensation or a refund.

    We can not recommend Bannockburn Tours. Our tour of the Cabot Trail was a disappointing, uncomfortable and frustrating experience. Although the arrangements and communication prior were excellent, we could not believe that the company thought it would be acceptable to use the family vehicle. It would have been better to cancel and give us the chance to find an alternative tour. Our party of six adults, plus the driver and the guide, were crammed into a Honda Odyssey. There was simply not enough space, especially in the back 3 seats which required climbing and clambering skills. There was no map, no itinerary - we drove towards the Cabot Trsil, stopping at two scenic lookouts and two cafes - primarily to rotate seats and stretch our legs. At our request, we did had a brief stop at Baddeck. Our local guide Gordon was softly spoken and although he had stories to share, he was unable to hear our questions so conversation was limited. We provided feedback regarding the inappropriate vehicle throughout the day and on return contacted the company to request a 20% discount as the tour did not meet our expectations. The email was not acknowledged.

    There are better tour operators operating in Sydney than this company and my advice is, don’t waste your money. We joined 9 others for a total of 11 passengers and all agreed, the actual day’s activities bore no resemblance to the touted description promised. The management displayed a lack of motivation to provide a quality tour and after feedback was given, displayed a disregard for the lacklustre, low quality tour we endured. Outsourced to another operator, into an unsuitable vehicle, no seatbelts, no commentary and cramped conditions, was our experience. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and for your sake, I hope you don’t follow our poor choice. Michael

    Our vehicles will be parked at the port and our drivers and tour guides will hold a sign of Bannockburn Tours waiting for our clients. The tour wont be started until we collect all of the confirmed passengers or 30 mins after the actual docking time. So we would be appreciated if you can get off the ship as soon as you can so that you wont miss the tour. And we will make sure that our vehicles will be back on time (around 1 hour ahead of the sailing time) so that our clients have no problem to catch up the ship.
