What to expect
Chapman's Peak Drive
Meet your guide at the hotel and transfer to the start of the scenic route. Before driving along the mountain pass, you'll stop at a designated viewpoint to take photos of the coastline and prepare for the drive. Drive along the famous mountain pass, enjoying stunning views of the cliffs and ocean. You’ll have opportunities to stop at viewpoints along the route to take photos of the scenery. The drive can be affected by weather or road conditions, but your guide will suggest alternative routes if necessary.
Stop at a viewpoint on the mountain that overlooks Noordhoek Beach. From here, you'll get a panoramic view of the beach below and the coastline. It’s a great spot for photos and to enjoy the scenery. Your guide may also tell you about the Kakapo shipwreck, which ran aground in 1900 nearby.
Simon's Town
Drive through Simon’s Town, a historic seaside town known for its colorful buildings and maritime history. You’ll pass by the harbor and main streets, but there’s no stop here. It’s a quick drive-by to take in the scenery as you head towards the next stop.
Stop at this well-known landmark. Take photos of the cliffs and lighthouse, and walk along the trails if you like. It’s a popular spot for photos and enjoying the scenery.
Meet the African penguins in their natural habitat. Walk along the boardwalks through the penguin colony, take photos, and enjoy watching the birds in a natural setting.
Your driver will take you into the Cape Point park, with the entrance fee included in your tour. You can explore the area on foot, walk to the lighthouse, and enjoy the stunning views. The funicular ride up to the lighthouse is optional and not included in the tour; you can choose to walk or pay R90 per person for the tram if you'd like a quick ride up instead.
Scratch Patch & Mineral World
The driver will stop at Scratch Patch, a gemstone mine where you can browse and select a variety of gemstones, minerals, and souvenirs. You’ll have time to explore, buy your favorite stones, and learn a bit about the different minerals on display.
