    Juan was our guide for the chocolate tour. We enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it to others! You will love the sample of coffee and cacao.

    This was our worst tour experience in all of our travels in Costa Rica. We booked the premium chocolate tour with lunch. We waited for our transport to come and pick us up. They were held up by traffic construction on the road to our hotel. All of the other tour buses managed to get through, we were the only ones left in our lobby waiting. They finally messaged us and told us that they couldn’t get through, even though every other tour group were picked up. They offered another day/time. We asked for a refund which they did right away. We then spoke with the tour booking office at our hotel and they suggested that we try again. He arranged for them to come and get us the following day and recommended that they plan on extra time to get through. We waited. Our pick up time came and went. I messaged them again. It took a while for them to answer. They called me and said that they weren’t able to get through again (which is not true - the road is not blocked today). They said that the road construction was out of their control and that they had to cancel our booking…AGAIN. So very frustrating and disappointing. They are unreliable. This does not reflect well on the business or Costa Rica.

    This was one of my favorite tours. Juan C was our guide and made this not only entertaining but richly informative. The hike was not difficult or tiring. We were introduced to the medicinal garden throughout the cacao/coffee bean farm and exposed to the completely organic and eco conscious standards this farm operates on. The chocolate process and tasting was one of the most informative and delightful experiences of my 3 month Costa Rican trip. Then to add complete joy to this tour we were treated to the coffee bean process, brewing and tasting of the richest coffee. Juan C is a complete gem and the Premium chocolate tour is not to be missed.
