"Transfer to the Bird Park by Moto-taxi. The Guacamaya Mountain Bird and Nature Reserve is located just 2 km from Copán Ruinas. This interesting ecological park is immersed in a small canyon formed by the Sesesmil Gorge, which provides of water to Copán Ruinas, its crystalline waters, the lush and centennial vegetation and the coffee farm that operates on the site contribute to give the reserve a unique natural air.The park has a collection of birds native to Honduras and Central America, as well as some species of South America. All of them have been rescued from captivity and have been provided with large flight cages where, after being rescued and evaluated upon recovery, they are released, despite being in captivity, they enjoy freedom and they can fly while they are under observation by the biologists who run the sanctuary. Inside the park you will find a craft and souvenir shop where you can buy souvenirs two from the park. "
