What to expect
Valley Forge National Historical Park
The drive out to Valley Forge National Historical Park from Philadelphia takes about 30 minutes depending on traffic. Your tour will always include a drive around Valley Forge National Historic Park where you will see regimental monuments and re-creations of the huts used by the troops who camped here. You’ll have many opportunities to get out, explore, and take photos across the park. You'll also have a stop at the park's Visitor Center, where you can see a short movie about the encampment, browse in the store and visit the museum area.
Washington Memorial Chapel
You’ll visit the site of George Washington’s headquarters and the Washington Memorial Chapel, built in the early 1900's to commemorate this unique part of history. Throughout your drive, your guide will share stories and historical information.
Lancaster County
Every visit to Lancaster and Amish Country includes a drive along many of the country roads that crisscross the area, while you hear about the history, philosophies and culture of the Amish and Mennonite people from your guide. Depending on the length of your tour, activities for your day may include taking a Amish buggy ride, visiting a local bakery, touring a museum to see how the Amish have lived for more than two centuries, eating lunch at a classic Pennsylvania Dutch Smorgasbord or market, and perusing many local craft and quilt shops for the perfect Amish souvenir.
