    We had a grest time on this tour. Our guide did a wonderful job showing us around Naples and introducing us to wonderful food that we never would have found ourselves.

    This was my first food tour ever and I will definitely do it again and with Culinary Backstreets. It was very well organized, our guide Chiara was wonderful (friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating). I was traveling with my 14 year old son and he enjoyed it as well. It wasn't just food, we got to see and learn more about Naples. It was a particularly great way to start off our trip there.

    Fun tour with great choices for a diverse cultural experience. Visited places that tourists wouldn't normally see. Fracesca was a great guide!

    Stefania is an excellent tour guide. We were fortunate to have only two guests on this trip so we had Stefania to ourselves. We had fabulous fresh bufala mozzarella at “a muzzarella mia parla.” We visited the produce shop of Agostino, and the signmaker Pasquale, who makes signs for the neighborhood's shop owners. A very interesting stop was the antica freselleria of Antonio di Paolo, whose family has been making this traditional Naples bread since 1834. I would have liked to see the museum at that site, but understand time is limited on the tour. The stop for limonata a cosce aperte was interesting and fun. Up to this point, all the food was wonderful. Our nearly last stop was for pizza, and both the setting and the pizza were disappointing. The place was very ordinary. The wine terrible, the pizza meh. I felt rushed to pick a type of pizza. I asked Stefania why this place? since she hadn't explained anything about it, and she said that it was a typical local pizzeria, and it would not be crowded with tourists. That was true, but very ordinary, and the pizza was not very good. Finally, although the walk through historic areas and the stops were interesting, most of the owners were not interested in us. The only exceptions were at Agostino's fruit shop, Antonio, who makes the freselleria, and the owner of the lemonade stand. The others were grumpy or indifferent, as they have seen so many tours come in, it seemed like we were just another group to feed or paint for and get out of their way. For the price, I would like to feel more welcomed and to have a pizza that's the best Naples has to offer. And where was the limoncello?
