What to expect
San Pedro Apostol de Andahuaylillas
The San Pedro de Andahuaylillas church was built by the Jesuits in the late 16th century. The decoration of its interiors is the most impressive of the enclosure. It has a collection of canvases from the Cusqueña School that represents the life of San Pedro: with gold leaf frames, a majestic organ, silver metalwork and a baroque altar.
Parque Arqueologico De Raqchi
Raqchi was a sacred site for pre-Inca and Inca cultures where the god Wiracocha, creator of the world according to many Andean cultures, was worshiped. The Huiracocha Temple was built of stone and adobe and measures 20 meters high. Currently only the walls remain.
La Raya Pass
La Raya, the highest point between Puno and Cusco, over 4,313 metres above sea level.
Museo Litico Pukara
The museum has a collection of monoliths, stelae and zoomorphic sculptures belonging to the Pucará culture. Among the objects exhibited is the 2-meter high stela of rain or lightning and the stone monolith Cutthroat
