What to expect
Is the largest and the most multi-dimensional cultural project of Qatar. It is a place where people come together to experience the cultures of the world. With beautiful theatres, concert halls, exhibition galleries and cutting-edge facilities, Katara aims to become a world leader for multi-cultural activities.
The Pearl Island
A Riviera style man-made island developed in an exclusive enclave of Doha. It is the Middle East's most glamorous address, covering 400 hectares of reclaimed land and Qatar's first international urban development venture. The name "The Pearl" was chosen because the island is being built on one of Qatar's previous major pearl diving sites. Qatar was one of the major pearl traders of Asia before the Japanese introduced cheaper more affordable pearls just before Qatar's oil boom. The Pearl-Qatar helps to represent Qatar's rich past in the pearl industry. The Pearl is said to resemble a string of pearls.
Lusail
Lusail is a planned city in Qatar, located on the coast, in the southern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail is located about 23 kilometres north of the city centre of Doha, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over 38 square kilometres and will eventually have the infrastructure to accommodate 450,000 people. Of these 450,000 people, it is estimated that 250,000 or fewer will be residents, 190,000 will be office workers and 60,000 will be retail workers
Build on the site of Doha's century old trading market, on the banks of the Wadi Musherieb, Souq Waqif feels like an anachronism, particularly against the backdrop of Doha's dramatic modernist skyline. With its mud-daubed buildings, the market harkens to a bygone era while remaining a hub of activity, where commerce and gossip collide.
One of Doha's most iconic attractions, the Doha Corniche is a seven-kilometer stretch of gorgeous promenade overlooking the serene waterfront.
The Museum of Islamic Art is a renowned institution located in Doha, Qatar. Designed by architect I. M. Pei, this iconic museum houses an extensive collection of Islamic art and artifacts spanning over 1,400 years. Its stunning architecture and rich exhibits make it a must-visit destination for those interested in Islamic culture and history.
