Andrea and Baldemar were knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and just altogether super guides. They picked us up at our Quinta. They had cold water all day long. Andrea was especially knowledgeable about the wine industry and its development in the Duoro River Valley. She also gave us several inside tips to help us through the rest of our time in this beautiful area of the world. A+, we are so grateful and we look forward to seeing them again on our next trip.

Andreia and Valdemar were fantastic hosts to the Douro Valley! It was so nice to have a small group and transportation around the region. We were a group of two couples, so four total. There was some driving so we are glad we did not have to drive. They were very knowledgeable about the region since they grew up and live here now. We visited a winery in the morning, scenic viewpoint, lunch with locals, another winery, and then finished with a boat ride and seeing the train station. They made sure we were comfortable and had cold water at all times. We are very happy we did this tour!

We toured the Douro Valley with Andreia and her husband Valdemar three weeks ago and had a WONDERFUL day! With Valdemar carefully driving the narrow winding roads of the Douro Valley, Andreia could concentrate on sharing with us her extensive knowledge of the history, culture, and wines of the Douro Valley. We stopped at two fabulous family-owned quintas that each provided a background into their history and production and leisurely and delicious tastings. Lunch was at a beautiful restaurant that provided one of the best (if not best) meal we had in Portugal. A special bonus was Andreia and Valdemar joined us for the meal (not always done by tour guides we found) and that allowed for much more conversation about life in the Douro Valley. It was a wonderful meal with friends. And I must mention the scenery and one hour boat trip were beautiful.
To begin our tour, Andreia picked us up at the Regua train station after we had taken the train from Porto that morning. Our return to Porto that evening was equally easy.
Andriea’s tour was a wonderful experience, and we sincerely treasure the time we spent with her and her husband. We HIGHLY recommend her tour.

Andreia & Valdemar are local Douro and grew up in the valley. Their knowledge of and lifelong familiarity with Douro's culture and history really grounded our vineyard and winery experience. And they are so much fun. We all talked, asked questions of each other, and learned so much about the making of port wine AND Portuguese wine. We visited wonderful, smaller vineyards/wineries. Fabulous!

Andreia was an excellent guide and I can't recommend her tour enough! Douro Valley is an incredible place and Andreia's tour makes it such a memorable experience. Its clear she put a lot of thought and effort into this tour and is so attentive towards her guests. She makes it so personal, the group was small, the service was great, and Andreia is really knowledgeable and passionate about the area! We were a little worried about the weather as it had a chance of rain, but she restructured the day to make sure we did the rabelo boat tour during the nicest part. It was a small, intimate ride on a traditional rabelo boat with a local captain which was great (we had booked our own boat tour the day before with a company our hotel recommended and it was a big crowded boat, so this was a much more unique experience!). Overall, we visited 2 family owned Quintas and tasted great wine as well as toured the cellars at both, we had an incredible lunch at a local restaurant (which also includes wine!), did a rabelo boat ride, stopped at a nice viewpoint which we enjoyed even though it was overcast, and enjoyed the amazing views during the drives between the stops.
This is a can't miss experience to enjoy Douro Valley through the eyes of a local. The whole day felt authentic and wonderful and I am so thankful we found Andreia. This was by far our favorite tour throughout our entire trip in Portugal!
