    Mums cooking class was amazing! The kitchen is traditional, everything is made from scratch & cooked over fire on clay pots. Each recipe can easily be recreated at home & they are simple yet delicious. The eggplant curry was my favourite, I could have ate the entire pot full. Everyone gets a turn at cooking, helping & tasting. I had a great time and highly recommend.

    This was an amazing cooking class run by the most welcoming, lovely Sri Lankan family. Our family was treated to a fantastic hands on and immersive local experience; Irosha and her Mum took us through every step of producing 4 delicious dishes (whilst Iroshas cheeky nephew entertained our son with drawing and games!). An absolute highlight of our time in Sri Lanka and highly recommended.

    We learnt so much about cooking in this class and the best part was that we actually ate the food we cooked. We did this class with a lovely lady from Australia called Frankie .what a lovely time we all had.

    I spent a wonderful evening learning how to cook a range of curries from dahl, to jackfruit to green beans to coconut sambol. Not too complicated and hopefully I can use the recipes provided to replicate them back home. Thank you.

    We attended the 4pm session and the Ella afternoon torrential rain was in full force when we arrived. The steep climb to the house was challenging in the rain. We were rewarded with a beautiful welcoming family, a mother and daughter team with a Dad running interference due to effects of the storm. The ingredients were all fresh and utensils were all hygenically maintained. We washed our hands with soap before commencement. A group of 8 (4 couples) then went about the pleasureable task of being guided through preparing a delightful traditional Sri Lankan spread. On the menu was rice, curries:Dahl, beetroot, bean, chicken & accompaniments coconut sambal & pappadums. We all chopped ingredients, grated coconut, pounded coconut, smashed garlic/ ginger. The daughter communicated what was happening. Mum skillfully managed to get it all done whilst managing all of the participants, ensuring everyone had a turn. Mums smile lit up the space. Warm and inviting. We all ate the delicious meal together with enough for seconds. There was an option to purchase beer. The washroom was clean and accessible. I can’t recommend this cooking class enough. The daughter also sent through detailed recipes for what was made as well as extra recipes via WhatsApp after the event. Thoroughly enjoyable and delicious!
