    I had an unforgettable experience on this trip! The guides Alex and Yuko were so lovely, incredibly knowledgeable, providing insightful explanations about the history and culture that made the tourist spots even more captivating. The selection of places during the tour was excellent, allowing us to enjoy beautiful scenery and important landmarks without missing anything. Both guides Yuko and Alex were kind and professional, demonstrating thoughtfulness in every detail, ensuring a comfortable journey.     The tour with Yuko and Alex was the highlight of my Japanese holiday. As part of my package they organised for me to stay at a local onsen hotel in a stunning location with authentic Japanese meals. The hiking was great, the scenery was beautiful and their knowledge of the history and culture of the area is exceptional. I learnt a lot and it was the most engaging and enjoyable experience I had during my trip.

    This was my favorite experience on my whirlwind 16 day tour of Japan with Mysterious Adventures Tours. The monks are so welcoming and the mountain setting is so majestically beautiful. Alex and Yuko arranged and led us through special viewings in the shrine, a delicious authentic lunch, a delightful bamboo horns making and blowing experience (we got to take the horns home with us), and a special ceremony with the monks. This was a true heart of Japan experience.

    There is much to see around Mt. Horaiji but there are few listings on Tripadvisor - the mountain is the main location for this tour, not just the temple! We visit Gyoshagoe cliff path, Horai Toushougo Shrine, the main temple 'Hondo,' Takauchiba Lookout, the temple grounds, Tainaikuguri cave, the 1425 stone steps, ruins of temples past, the 800 year old Kasasugi tree, the Niomon Gate, and the old Temple main road.
