    I did the Essence Douro Route with my parents and I loved it! Despite being from the city, it was super special to be in the middle of nature, away from the mess, and to live things so simple and genuine. Rui was amazing, super friendly, fun and knew a lot about everything he showed us. He told super interesting stories and made us feel really comfortable. The places we passed by are beautiful, with breathtaking landscapes. One of the moments I liked the most was picking fruit directly from the tree and then taking a picnic with a brutal view. The lunch was delicious and although I did not taste the Douro wine, my parents loved it! The walk on Alpajares Walk was really different. It seemed like we were going back in time at every step. And, of course, walking through those dark shale mountains was surreal... scary and beautiful at the same time. I recommend 100% to those who come to the Douro, to live this experience. I was happy to return with my friends to explore the lakes of Sabor! Thank you Rui for this experience so fixed!!
