    Informative and fun walking tour around the glacier park. The guide was easygoing and knew a lot about the history of the glaciers and the area. We walked along the public track to the viewpoint as well as heading off on a couple of private tracks.

    Fantastic tour we had at Franz Josef Glacier. Our guide Gerome (hope I'm spelling it right) showed us the magnificence of the glacier, some hidden places in the forest, and explained a lot about the flora, fauna, geology.... Our daughters, who are 9 and 6, never left his side and he kindly answered all their questions.

    An informative and picturesque tour of the Franz Josef area. Going off the main tourist path provided opportunities to see other amazing scenery not available from the public paths, plus a waterfall, flora and experienced some bush tucker. Cliff was a great tour guide with terrific local knowledge and adapted the tour to cater for all abilities and interest levels. In addition, it was fantastic that the tour provided the use of raincoats and hiking boats. Strongly recommend this tour.

    This was the best tour we had as a small family whilst on our recent holiday in New Zealand. Our tour went ahead despite in pouring rain all night. We were given water proof clothes and shoes, although the rain actually cleared and we didn’t need them on the tour. We did notice that the helicopters were not flying that morning, due to the weather not being favourable. Our guide Cathy was absolutely amazing, she was so knowledgeable on all things Franz Josef Glacier, the birds, plants, fungi, everything! We learnt so much on this tour, more than we ever would have learnt walking ourselves up to the glacier viewing platform, as we were taken off the main path into the foliage where only tours can go. It was really cool to ‘disappear’ and then ‘reappear’ back onto the main path, so much so that our 10 year old even loved it. Morning tea was down on the glacial valley floor surrounded by nature and no other tourists. So many positive things I could say about this tour, but do yourself a favour and book now!     Amazingly knowledgable guide. He showed us so many plants and birds, which was great as we were really keen to see as many native birds as possible. The walking paths were really interesting and we went through some really cool areas away from the main tourist paths. Tea/coffee/biscuit stops were a great addition! We would highly recommend! We did both the Franz and Fox tours in one day and had a great time!
