Our heli-skiing experience with Alpine Heli in Queenstown was nothing short of outstanding. From start to finish, the service was top-notch, and the adventure exceeded our expectations in every way.
One piece of advice that we truly appreciated was to keep our schedule flexible to maximize our skiing options. This allowed us to take full advantage of two incredible days of fresh powder following a rare storm. The team’s ability to accommodate our preferred pickup times between 8 and 9 o’clock was also a great start to each day.
The adventure kicked off with a comprehensive safety briefing covering avalanche risks and helicopter safety. This gave us peace of mind before we embarked on the exhilarating helicopter ride to the peaks surrounding Queenstown. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the anticipation built as we soared above the stunning landscape.
Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, especially on the day when the avalanche risk was medium. Their expertise ensured that we felt safe and well-guided throughout the entire experience. They led us to some of the best untouched powder we’ve ever experienced—each run was pure bliss. The beauty of this trip is that you’re skiing in small, intimate groups (just your group of 4 and possibly 1-2 other groups in the same chopper), which means you’re getting fresh tracks all day long.
The mid-day lunch was delicious and hearty, providing the perfect refuel before we hit the slopes again. And because the conditions were so incredible, we opted to add on extra runs at the end of each day for an additional fee. It was absolutely worth it—the snow was phenomenal, and the views were straight out of a fantasy, reminding us of the Misty Mountains.

If you're reading this review, you've watched the videos or seen the photos. That is unlikely to be how your day goes. There were so many 'mishaps' during my trip that, only later, I realized how horrifying it all was.

One of, if not the best experience of my life, alpine heliski were amazing, the setup is awesome, the pilots skills were amazing, our guide Ben was awesome, super helpful, friendly and expert knowledge of the area. From start to finish the day was amazing thankyou guys so much, cannot recommend highly enough

I highly suggest considering an alternative. I didn't realize until after a pretty terrible experience that Alpine was the only company flying on the date of my heli-ski. There was a VERY good reason the other companies weren't flying. Had I known that they defined 'powder' as any form of snow, I would have been a bit more weary. In summary, avoid these guys. As someone who has been skiing for over 35 years, I can attest that these are not the people you want to trust with your safety. The picture-perfect photos may very well be your experience...all I can say is you've been warned.

Its hard not to like heliskiing but was impressed with every aspect of this operation. Guides where fantastic , pilot was experienced and had been with them for a few years and had the last call on all flying safety aspects. lunch was fantastic. Also the terrain they offer can differ from other operators in the area
