“Wat Rong Khun” or “White Temple” is located in Chiang Rai Province. It was designed and built by Chalermchai Kositpipat, a Chiang Rai artist who is a National Artist in Visual Arts (Painting). It is a beautiful religious site with beautiful architecture and delicate art patterns, attracting many tourists to visit throughout the year. The Ubosot of Wat Rong Khun is pure white, which has become a memorable identity for foreign tourists, who call Wat Rong Khun “The White Temple” (Ticket price 100 THB)

Wat Rong Seur Ten (Blue Temple)

“Wat Rong Suea Ten” or “Blue Temple” was renovated by Mr. Phutta Kabkaew or “Salanok”, a local artist from Chiang Rai, a student of Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat (National Artist who restored White Temple). This temple has a beauty with its own unique applied art using shades of blue and gold as the main colors, including the beautiful architecture of the stucco craftsmen.

Baan Dam Museum

“Baan Dam Museum” or “Black house Museum” is the work of Professor Thawan Duchanee, National Artist in Visual Arts (Painting). It consists of more than 25 northern local architectural buildings and many applied local architectural buildings that display folk art. All are painted black. Each building is decorated with beautifully carved wood. It displays large crocodile skins, snake skins and various animal horns. It also houses a collection of items used in life in the past. Long Neck Karen Village

“Chiang Rai Long Neck Karen Village” Long Neck Karen are a Karen tribe that calls themselves “Palaung”. They migrated from the political situation in Myanmar. Most of them work in traditional agriculture. In the village, there are 5 other tribes that migrated from China and Myanmar. You will learn the reason for wearing brass rings around their neck. Learn about the culture and way of life of the 5 tribes in living in the mountains, surviving in the jungle, and political warfare. (Fees price 300 THB)

Choui Fong Tea

“Choui Fong tea plantation” is one of the biggest tea producers in in Chiang Rai province, situated at the top of a hill with a bird’s eye view of the surrounding fields. On the premises are a tea shop called “Choui Fong Tea Cafe” a restaurant serving food and a souvenir shop, all offering panoramic views of the rolling hills and distant mountains. The building is modern, clean and lavishly designed with a terrace and large windows overlooking the breathtaking scenery. Visitors can wander through numerous tea fields, participate in tea tastings and discover a menu with a diverse selection of teas.

Golden Triangle

“The Golden Triangle” is located in Chiang Saen District, Chiang Rai Province, at the border of three countries: Thailand (Chiang Rai Province), Laos (Bokeo Province), and Myanmar (Shan State), with the Ruak River and Mekong River cutting through all three countries. It is considered another important economic area in this region, and also has beautiful views of the three countries.

“The Opium House Museum” is located in the Golden Triangle, an area that is like the poem “Two rivers separate three countries. It used to be an opium-growing area and a trading area. Today, it is a peaceful and comfortable place to travel. The beauty is still as famous the Golden Triangle.” This museum is a place that tells stories about opium in the Golden Triangle through exquisite antiques, tools and equipment that show the beliefs, faith, and traditions of the Burmese, Shan, Chinese, and various hill tribes in Thailand. It also tells the history of the land where the three countries meet, the biology of opium, the smoking process, trading, and exchange, backstabbing, robbery, and murder, which are small wars that still leave traces for further study.
