Arrival at La Unión

From La Unión, our journey takes us to uncover a unique spectacle: the thermal waters of the gulf, where nature reminds us of its strength and vitality. We then arrive at the charming Conchagüita Island, a haven of peace surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Here, you'll have approximately one hour to explore its picturesque streets, greet fishermen on their traditional boats, and immerse yourself in the serenity of this hidden paradise.

Our journey continues to El Majahual Beach, a true gem on Meanguera Island. With its coffee-colored sand and calm waters, this beach is the perfect spot to dive in and cool off in the gulf. During our one-hour stop, you can savor a delicious fresh ceviche, prepared with the most authentic flavors of the region, while enjoying the sea breeze and the natural charms surrounding this oasis.

We leave behind El Majahual Beach to sail along the charming Meanguerita Island, a small paradise that enchants with its lush vegetation and pristine beaches. Our journey continues to the quaint village of Meanguera, where time seems to stand still. Here, you'll have the chance to stroll along the beach, admire traditional fishing boats, and wander through its streets. Engaging with the locals is a unique gift, as every word carries the essence of a life deeply connected to the sea and nature.

Our journey takes us to one of the Gulf of Fonseca's best-kept secrets: the stunning El Carey Beach, located on Zacatillo Island. Before reaching it, we’ll enjoy a fascinating tour sailing close to Martín Pérez Island and Ilca Island, also known as the Island of Birds, where we’ll observe a spectacular variety of nesting birds. A natural spectacle truly worth admiring! Upon arriving at El Carey Beach, we'll have approximately an hour and a half to enjoy this pristine corner. Dive into its calm waters, take photographs that capture the beauty of the place, or simply relax under the sun, while you marvel at the splendor of the Gulf of Fonseca. A true paradise for the senses.

After our visit to El Carey Beach, we head to the popular Playa Playona, one of the most visited beaches by locals, also located on Zacatillo Island. Here, a delicious local lunch awaits us by the sea, with fresh and authentic flavors that reflect the essence of the Gulf. After enjoying the meal, you’ll have free time to relax, whether by taking a refreshing dip in its waters, strolling along the beach, or simply sunbathing while you soak in the tranquility of the surroundings. A perfect place to rest and enjoy the local atmosphere.

Before returning to La Unión and concluding our journey through the Gulf of Fonseca, we will sail close to the enigmatic Isla Conejo. This small island, though modest in size, has been the site of a fascinating history of territorial disputes between El Salvador and Honduras. Ultimately, it became part of Salvadoran territory, a testament to the rich historical and political backdrop of this gulf.
