Our day began at 8:00 AM, as instructed, with a prompt arrival at 7:59 AM to meet our driver. We waited for over 30 minutes at the designated location, only to discover that our driver had been there the entire time. Despite being aware that we were waiting for a tour, he made no effort to approach us, and his van had no visible signage from our vantage point. It was only when we got close to his vehicle that we noticed a faint sign with the word "Gozo" written in small letters on the windshield.
By this time, it was 8:45 AM, and we had just begun our journey out of Valletta. The next hour was spent driving to three additional stops to pick up other passengers. Finally, after a grueling ride, we arrived at the port, only to wait another 30 minutes for passengers from other vans to join us. It wasn't until 11:00 AM that we finally set foot on Gozo.
The only highlight of the day was our tour guide, Luis. He was exceptional—funny, informative, and the silver lining in an otherwise miserable experience. Unfortunately, Luis was the lone bright spot in what I can only describe as a day from hell, made worse by the scorching weather.
The tour itself was painfully long, dragging on for what felt like an eternity but was actually five hours of monotonous driving in a cramped, outdated jeep. The sites we visited were mediocre at best, far from the promised highlights. Instead of offering a meaningful experience, the tour seemed focused on covering as much of the island as possible, with brief, uninspiring photo opportunities at each stop.
This tour is a classic example of over-promising and under-delivering. Rather than trying to showcase the entire island—which, frankly, doesn’t have much to offer—the company should concentrate on creating memorable experiences. There’s no need to rush from one overcrowded tourist spot to another. Instead, the tour should focus on hidden gems, like the picturesque beach we visited at the start of the day, where guests could enjoy the water for a meaningful 45 minutes.
Even lunch, though tasty, felt lackluster. We were seated in a small restaurant with no view, a missed opportunity to provide a more memorable dining experience in a scenic location.
Overall, I cannot recommend this tour to anyone. However, if you do choose to go, I sincerely hope you end up with Luis as your guide. His charm and expertise were the only redeeming aspects of an otherwise dreadful day.

Peter was great. I really enjoyed my trip with the group. We had plenty of time with each stop. He explained everything and was so knowledgeable. Food was good and we stopped for small tasting a well. If you want to get in the water he gave us that option but we only dipped our toes. Highly recommend!

This day trip is very organised. Pickup at hotel which wasn’t even on p/u list, boat ride and jeeps waiting for us. Our guide was Louis a local man from Gozo. He was the highlight of the day for my sister and I. He was friendly, funny and kind. He showed us every nook and cranny of Gozo and was extremely knowledgeable about the history. He was just a delightful person and took care of the 6 of us on tour. As for Gozo, it’s a beautiful island with some hidden gems to see. The lunch provided was extremely tasty and well organized. Would highly recommend this tour and if you are an English speaker, your luck is in if you get Louis’s jeep!
