IT IS THE CENTRE PIECE OF THE KUALA LUMPUR CITY CENTRE (KLCC) DEVELOPMENT, WHICH COMPRISES LANDMARKS SUCH AS THE KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE, SURIA KLCC SHOPPING MALL, STAR-RATED HOTELS, A MOSQUE AS WELL AS THE IMMACULATELY LANDSCAPED KLCC PARK. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE A VISIT TO THE SKYBRIDGE ON THE 41ST FLOOR AND VIEWING DECK ON THE 86TH FLOOR.
MASJID NEGARA IS ONE OF THE MOST DISTINGUISHED LANDMARKS IN THE CITY. IT HAS A UNIQUE STAR-SHAPED DOME AND A 73M HIGH MINARET. THE NATIONAL MOSQUE IS SITUATED FRINGING THE KL LAKE GARDENS. Jamek Mosque
JAMEK MOSQUE, OFFICIALLY SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD JAMEK MOSQUE, IS ONE OF THE OLDEST MOSQUES IN KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA. IT IS LOCATED AT THE CONFLUENCE OF THE KLANG AND GOMBAK RIVER AND MAY BE ACCESSED VIA JALAN TUN PERAK. THE MOSQUE WAS DESIGNED BY ARTHUR BENISON HUBBACK, AND BUILT IN 1909. MASJID JAMEK SERVED AS KUALA LUMPUR'S MAIN MOSQUE. THE MOSQUE HAS A MOORISH ARCHITECTURE.
The River of Life
The River of Life (ROL) is a seven-year project headed by the Government of Malaysia to transform the Klang River into a vibrant and livable waterfront with high economic value. Covering eight rivers with total length of 110km, this project is divided into three major components.
THE NATIONAL TEXTILES MUSEUM HOUSES A UNIQUE COLLECTION OF CLOTHING, ACCESSORIES AND TEXTILES. THE MUSEUM HAS FOUR MAIN GALLERIES: POHON BUDI GALLERY, PELANGI GALLERY, TELUK BERANTAI GALLERY AND THE RATNA SARI GALLERY.
Merdeka Square
THE MERDEKA SQUARE IS LOCATED EXACTLY OPPOSITE THE SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING AND RIGHT BESIDE THE ROYAL SELANGOR CLUB. THIS IS THE HISTORICAL PLACE WHERE THE UNION FLAG WAS LOWERED AND THE MALAYAN FLAG WAS RAISED FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME AT THE STRUCK OF MIDNIGHT OF 31ST AUGUST 1957. FROM THEN ON, MERDEKA SQUARE HAS BEEN THE VENUE FOR THE ANNUAL MERDEKA PARADE.
MUSIC MUSEUM KUALA LUMPUR OPENED ON 1ST AUGUST 2015 IN AN OLD COLONIAL-ERA BUILDING ON JALAN RAJA FACING DATARAN MERDEKA IN THE HEART OF KUALA LUMPUR. THIS ELEGANT BUILDING WAS BUILT IN 1919 AS THE KL BRANCH OF CHARTERED BANK.
Sultan Abdul Samad Building
THE ICONIC SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF DATARAN MERDEKA. THIS HISTORICAL BUILDING HOUSES THE SUPREME AND HIGH COURTS. THE BUILDING WITH UNIQUE MOORISH DESIGNS AND CLOCK TOWER IS WIDELY PHOTOGRAPHED BY VISITORS TO THE CITY CENTRE.
Malayan Railway Administration Building
