What to expect

The Stonington archipelago offers some of the very best kayaking in North America, boasting over 60 islands within a two hour paddle from the Stonington Paddle shop. Of these Maine islands, 36 are open to the public and 20 are available for island camping trips. Children 12 to 14 years of age can be in a single kayak if they are very experienced and the weather is good. Children between the ages of 4 and 12 must be in a tandem accompanied by experienced adults. We do not allow children under the age of 4 in our rental kayaks. No exceptions. Half Day Trips are offered mornings and afternoons. The water is typically calmer in the mornings so we suggest beginners come early. Morning half day trip time: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Afternoon half day trip time: 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
