    Hiking Le Morne Brabant is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for adventurous travellers.     The rewards of the views along route especially at the top were well worth the hiking effort. As a family of 4 with our 2 children (12 and 14 yrs old) having no hiking experience we were guided up in a group led by the excellent Fred. We met at a site a few minutes drive away from the start of the route. Which is on the beach popular with kite surfers at the base of the walk. The hike consisted of two sections. The lower being steepish paths benefiting from plenty of shade opportunities from the sun if preferred. The higher section was more of a challenge requiring some scrambling particularly up the “the wall”. There was the opportunity to stay at the top of the lower section whilst the rest of the group tackled the more challenging 2nd part to the top. Indeed a few of the adults in our group did just that, the group reunited on the way down. All the children in the group made it to the top. Our guide, Fred, was amiable and enthusiastic leading a very enjoyable 4hrs of hiking. Managing the group brilliantly he gave us the right blend of hiking and breaks for rest, view admiration and to hear informative local interest, flora and fauna insights. He guided us well over the trickier parts of the route. Highly recommended.

    Very special experience!! Our guide Fred showed us - beside the way up and down to le Morne - the beauty of the mauritian nature. The way up is difficult but makeable. The view from the top of the hill is amazing. Hope to see Fred on our next tours with yanature!

    Totally worth it! We were thinking on doing the hike by ourselves with just reading some tips in google. But I would totally recommend to do this with a guided since the way up can get a little bit tricky. Fred was our guide and he was amazing, he took his time to explain us many things and adapted his phase to the group.

    Started on a rainy morning, the hike finished with a stunning view over Le Morne. Gilles was very professional and caring while hiking. His experience made all of us feel safe at any time. He shared also facts about local history and vegetation, which made the trip more special. Stunning views and amazing hike.

    Awesome hike with stunning view over south west part of the island. Our guide Fred enriched the adventure with useful tips for the hike as well as interesting facts about the local nature and the cultural past of the area (fluent in english and french).

Déclarer patrimoine mondiale par l'UNESCO le 6 Juillet 2008, la montagne est le sanctuaire des esclaves marrons, qui se seraient jettés du haut de celle-ci pour préserver leur liberté et échapper à leurs maîtres. Se situant sur des terres privées, le Morne Brabant est l'une des montagnes les plus préservées de l'Île. On y retrouve une très haute densité, et variété, d'espèces endémiques, tels que la très rare, Trochetia Boutonania, notre emblème florale nationale.
