Our Mount Shasta clinics are designed to teach the fundamental skills every climber needs for safe travel on snow and ice. The Ice Axe and crampon clinic introduces you to ice axe use for balance, step cutting, and self-arrest, proper footwork and techniques for ascending and descending firm snow. Our course takes place on the lower slopes of Mount Shasta, where you’ll spend time on a slope practicing under the guidance of our experienced instructors. These sessions are perfect for beginners or climbers looking to refresh their skills before a bigger climb.
