What to expect
Our amazing tour begins by boarding the bus in the heart of San Pedro La Laguna, one of the most vibrant and picturesque villages on the shores of the majestic Lake Atitlan. Surrounded by volcanoes and a lively Tz'utujil Mayan culture, San Pedro is famous for its colorful streets, international tourist atmosphere and beautiful lake view. From here, we will embark on an unforgettable adventure!
We will continue our journey by bus, crossing the charming village of San Juan La Laguna. This place is a jewel of color and tradition, where magic is felt in the air. San Juan is famous for its streets, adorned with vibrant murals that tell Mayan stories, and for being the heart of cooperatives of textile and coffee artists. It is an essential stop to feel the authentic culture and living art of Lake Atitlan.
After 35 minutes by bus our next stop takes us to Santa Clara, a unique town nestled in the highlands of Guatemala, at an impressive height of over 2,000 meters above sea level. From this veritable corner, surrounded by a mountainous landscape and fresh air, we will take the first step of the adventure: we will begin our ascent towards the majestic mountain known as 'The Indian Nose', a natural member that promises spectacular views and an unforgettable experience. The ascent to the summit lasts 45 minutes, difficulty level; difficult. The descent lasts 45 minutes the road is steep. And we will enjoy the view about 1 hour
“After a demanding but rewarding walk of approximately 45 minutes, we will ascend paths surrounded by fresh forest and cross traditional plots of coffee, corn and avocado that are the livelihood of local communities. The reward at the end of the road is incomparable: the summit of the 'Indian Nose'. From this natural vantage point, one of the most spectacular panoramic views of Guatemala awaits us: the imposing chain of volcanoes and the vast and hypnotic Lake Atitlan, a landscape that is well worth all the effort."
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
