What to expect
The town of Trakai is surrounded by three lakes and situated on a narrow peninsula where people of different nations and 7 different religions and beliefs lived (and still live) in peace. We will have enough time to visit the castle museum, to have lunch in a traditional Karaim restaurant and to take a walk in the town.
Hill of Angels
We will have a short walk on this spectacular hill with explanations of the pieces of art situated there. This will also be a good opportunity to know more about worldview and symbols of ancient Baltic culture
Kernave Museum-Reserve
The medieval capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is an open-air museum with 5 hill forts, fortified settlement and archaeology museum. Since 1967, not looking at the threat of being arrested, equinox (midsummer) and other festivals of ancient culture have been celebrated here again. The place is amazing not only for its history, but also for its impressive landscape. We will also visit (if it will be open) an ancient village-museum.
Ethnographical Homestead and the Ancient Observatory of Celestial Bodies
It this authentic homestead we will learn more about ancient Lithuanian art and traditions. Also, if there will be a possibility, we will see how bread made on a fire.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
