    This was a great way to spend the afternoon! The guide for the Bird Tour was passionate and knowledgeable about the all the birds and keeping them safe. There was lots of opportunities to take photos and interact with the birds. Love it! Plus!! The miniature farm friends section was sooo fun to feed and pat the Donkey’s and goats!

    Firstly, the Bird Avery Experience. The conditions for visiting this expensive exhibit are NOT shown at the reception and are left until your time to take the 35 minutes tour. This is then a dilemma for having bought the expensive tickets you may be obligated to continue. If you wear hearing aids then you are warned to remove them, obviously the tour commentary would be nil. Remove hats, and all trinkets, earings and piercing. We did not taken the tour and asked for our money back which happened. We substituted the hire of a buggy for the cash and drove around the grounds. Botanic Garden. The gardens are not botanical, very little of significance, nothing botanical is given name tags. A great planting of bedding plants, the spring will bring colour. Over sold in advertising; over priced for the worth of the visit. We did not sample the food and drinks!

    We mainly went to see the Bird World as the gardens are steep & you needed a cart. Going in winter meant the roses had fininished flowering so there wasn’t a lot of colour around but the lay out is really great. There is a duck pond & Petting zoo, just beware of the baby goats, one tried to eat my long skirt at every opportunity! The 5 aviaries have tour sessions, we opted for the 1pm session. Kyle was our bird man & he was really great, very friendly & informative. All the birds have names & they are exquisite, colours are amazing & they love to land on you, which you get used to very quickly. It’s an hour’s tour which went fast, it was so enjoyable.

    My 3 young sons and I live on the Sunshine Coast and have been looking forward to this experience for a long time. The tour guide, an older woman, was impatient with my boys, overlooked them when I directly asked if we could have photos with the birds they were hoping to hold the most (black cockatoo), then at the very end, yanked 3 feathers (thumb length) out of my 5 year olds hand without an explanation and then looked me in the eye and said "thankyou for coming". Heartless and disappointing.

    This was a very fun interactive experience. The birds were spectacular and the hosts were extremely knowledgeable and did a great job. We loved this outing and seeing all the gorgeous bird species!
