    We took adult children for this boat excursion to explore wild life in national park and snorkel. We observed blue-footed booby, many other birds and sea life. We also spotted whales! It was a beautiful afternoon island tour. Palma and Edgar were great hosts. The boat and gear was new and well maintained. It was just the right length of time. I hope to do this again next year and highly recommend as family and friends outing,

    Hector, Carlos and Edgar were super hosts- well versed in island ecosystem. Lots of whales, dolphins and lovely sand beach. The guys were great with all ages from very young to pretty old:)

    This experience was perfect from start to finish. The staff were knowledgeable, efficient and super friendly. Our guide, Palma and captain, Edgar went over and above to make this an educational and fun adventure. We saw so many whales, blue footed boobies and of course, many, many fish while snorkeling along the rocks of the Marietas. We thought we'd never see the day my sister-in-law would even get in the water, but Palma assured her he would be by her side to help and he was. Because of his expertise, she did not miss out on a great snorkeling adventure. This is a must do!

    My husband and I took our two adult children on this tour at the tail end of December 2023. The sea was a little rough, but we had a great time and felt very safe. I would say that this is not a swim for everyone. This time of year the water was a little rough. It was an amazing experience though. We took the boat out with Captain Nano and guide Rodrigo. Both were excellent at their jobs. Nano got us into this little inlet so smoothly and it was amazing to be so close to a cave we otherwise would not have seen. Rodrigo was a fun, funny, helpful guide who is so knowledgeable about the history, the sea life, the birds and the overall area of the Marietas Islands. What a strong swimmer he was as he took us on a snorkle expedition, checking in with each of us, making sure we were safe, happy and always stayed together. The trip into the secret beach was a little rough and he pulled several of us in to make it easier on us. All in all we were in excellent hands for our half day tour.

    I signed up for the ecodiscovery Marietas Islands tour once I learned that a colony of Blue-footed Boobies lives there, as I thought they only lived in the Galapagos. Tour: Our main guide, Hector Original, was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to be around. He also made sure to keep us safe and helped us follow the national park regulations. I was traveling solo with a group of 11 other people who all knew each other, so I appreciated that Hector would share additional insights with me when I was off on my own. On the boat and in the water, Hector had support from our other guide, Carlos, who was equally friendly and always had a smile. During the snorkeling portion of our trip, the water was quite choppy so I started to feel a bit dizzy from putting my face down in the water while bobbing up and down in big waves. I decided to just tread water and enjoy watching the boobies flying overhead and preening on rocks, and Carlos kept me company. During the last portion of our trip to visit a beach, Hector had a sealed container for us to bring our phones. I'm so glad he did, because it was there that we finally saw a boobie up close; I got some great video with my phone! Communcation / Logistics: They are responsive, proactive, and thorough, providing accurate information. I emailed Roberta on a Sunday requesting a tour for later in the week and was able to go on a Friday. A few days later, Roberta and I coordinated by WhatsApp to swap my trip to earlier in the day at her request.

    The trip consists of 3 full hours spent out in the ocean; during that time you will cruise around the national park so you can have a closer view of the islands, check caves and birds (blue footed boobies are nesting there), snorkel and visit playa Nopalera. At the end of the 3 hours you will be taken back to Sayulita for lunch all together at a local restaurant. The day starts at 9 am here at the office in Sayulita, from here you will be driven to Punta de Mita, where our boat is located and we begin the excursion. You will be out for 3 hours in the ocean, get back to Sayulita after that for lunch and done with everything at around 2 pm.
