We enjoyed our ride with Cruz immensely. Neither of us is an experienced rider but the horses were gentle and easy to handle (though my mount, Pompeyo, was occasionally a bit spirited and wanted to pull off to the side to munch some leaves. A nice little challenge for me to steer him back on course!)
The scenery was spectacular and Cruz was an excellent guide. You do need at least one Spanish speaker in your group, but the explanations about how to mount and control the horses are very brief and simple. (Mostly Cruz trusts his guess not to be idiots!)
The delicious homemade popsicles were a treat, as was the nice cold brew, enjoyed horseback, to celebrate the end of the ride!

Beautiful, well-trained horses and skilled, amiable guide. Nice ride with beautiful view of the city. It was great to include stops in local village to support economy in a small way. Felt perfectly safe, comfortable & had a great ride.

My husband and I had THE BEST experience on this tour! It was seriously the best horseback tour I've ever been on. Our guides were fantastic, very considerate and attentive. We rode for about 2.5 hours through villages and beautiful open range countryside all the way to the top of El Cerro de La Bufa for incredible panoramic views looking down over Guanajuato. On the way down we stopped at a small village tienda for drinks and popsicles.
Our horses were the most well trained horses I've ever ridden! They listened to every little cue and were totally bombproof on the trail even when we encountered vehicles and loose dogs. You could tell they were loved and very well taken care of.
If we return to Guanajuato I would book this tour again!

We were picked up at our hotel no problem. We had no idea how to ride horses but after a quick lesson we hit the trail and things went pretty smoothly. Once we got comfortable with the horses and out into the mountains it was really nice. Great scenery. Cruz was an excellent guide and helped us get some great pictures. I would highly recommend it.
