This place feels like a highly commercialized tourist trap. The facilities are nice, Noel was friendly, and the included transportation was convenient, but be prepared to be squeezed for more money at every opportunity. The park fee is ridiculous, especially if you have a big family ($25pp). Onsite upgrades have hefty premium, so be sure to book the machines you want ahead of time. They don’t let you take your phone or camera, so the only pictures you get are their over-priced photos ($150). The duration promised is much shorter than advertised. We were told 1:45-2hrs but it was only 1:15. It’s also very crowded on the trails with many other groups, especially by the beach. We rented semi-automatic ATVs and had to upgrade because my wife couldn’t do the gears (it was our hotel’s fault for not telling us they booked semi-automatic ATVs). The upgraded automatic ATVs we initially received were rusted out and in bad shape, so we talked to Noel and he was able to get us better ones. It looked like many of the standard and mid-grade machines have seen better days, however the premium Can-Am ATVs and UTVs were nice and in good shape.
If you’re new to riding ATVs and UTVs you’ll probably be ok with the pace. If you’re more experienced you’ll be bored in the group public tour, so you’ll want to do a private. And of course, be prepared to pay another hefty premium.
We’ve done other ATV adventures in Cabo that emphasize the experience more than appearances and marketing, and they were so much fun. I’d recommend picking one of them.

The cost of the tour is misleading. They don’t tell you in advance that you have to pay for an upgrade to drive an automatic ATV. They also don’t allow you to purchase single photos. They want you to purchase the entire package. However, the tour guide Diego was AMAZING!! He gets a 10/10! I wouldn’t recommend Cactus Tours to anyone though!

Diego was a greatl guide. He made up for the girl who checked us in. She was rude and condescending. From that we waited 45 mins to be told that we had to wait another 6 mins for more people to join us that didn’t come. Since it was a vacation, we were looking to upgrade but the experience at check-in and the 51 min wait for a 1.2 hr tour and the ghost group was enough to stick to the basics. If it wasn’t for Diego and his personality and being down to earth. This would be a total bad review. Great job, Diego. We appreciate you.

Your tour begins with hotel pickup in San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas. You'll then head to the Cactus ATV facilities and be greeted by a professional, bilingual staff. You'll first enjoy a visit of the Aviary (Exotic Bird Sanctuary) and then receive all the necessary equipment including helmets, goggles, bandanas and water. You'll get a single ATV so you can drive it on your own. Your guide will give you a safety briefing and explanation of the activities during the tour and then the adventure begins. You will start driving your ATV and following your guide, exploring mountains, streams and canyons. Admire the breathtaking beauty of Los Cabos as you continue your ride and stop for a break and to drink some water.
