Wow, such an amazing trip! We had an absolute blast!! We got to see manatees, iguanas, alligators, birds, howler monkeys, and even land crabs! Make sure you take the time to enjoy the village after and shop some of their hand made goods.

This tour is amazing! Doyle is an amazing guide. We saw enormous iguanas, crocodiles and turtles. The walk through the jungle was the best part. We saw so many monkeys up close. Great adventure !

We had a fabulous excursion on Monkey River! Our tour guide (Jason Williams) was outstanding. He shared his extensive knowledge of the sights and sounds on the river, history of the local village, and took us on a hike through the jungle...amazing! The howler monkeys were right above us, loud and entertaining to watch. We also saw crocodiles, blue crab, multiple tropical birds, and manatees. Wear older clothing, and be sure to wear white (or light colored) clothing, as the mosquitos are drawn to black clothing. Suggest a hat, sunblock, mosquito repellant and bring some money to shop when you stop at the village for a fresh local lunch - it was delicious, and they can use the support of whatever items you purchase. Thank you Jason for a memorable trip that we will be talking about for a very long time!

My family and I enjoy this excursion. The boat ride was an adrenaline rush. We both saw and hear the howler monkeys. There were different birds as well. We even managed to caught sight of a manatee. It was so beautiful. We had such a great time that none took any pictures. We will be back for sure and this time we'll keep the camera rolling.

I used their service three times while in Belize. I was impressed all three times. Once was to Monkey River with Evers, second with Ian to Cockscomb for a hike and tubing, and the third was our shuttle from Placencia to Sleeping Giant.
All our services with Barefoot were top notch. It was easy to book and always on time.
I was extremely impressed for a shared tour. Pickups were prompt and Evers was great at sharing where he grew up. The meal there was best we had in all of our 14 day visit to Belize, including some very high end spots. Evers had a sharp eye for wildlife and if the animal is close to the river, he would spot it. If there is only one excursion you are doing in Placentia, this is one of the one.
Then there private tours. We had a tour with Ian. He picked us up promptly for a tour of the Cockscomb Reserve. Ian was an awesome tour guide. He gave us the right amount of history and hiking for a great day in Belize. We did hiking and rafting and enjoyed both. You would find that Ian feels out his client and tailor makes it for their experience. I was very impressed with him. He went at our pace. When he knew we liked hiking, he picked up the pace. Another treat on this adventure is a stop in a small Mayan village on the road where we turned to go up to the reserve. There was a great chocolate shop, gift shop and outdoor café. Ian was great a choosing some dishes for us at the café that he knew we would like. These were included in the tour cost. Overall, an amazing day with him.
The next day Ian drove us to our next destination on the Hummingbird Highway. Along the way we spoke a lot on the history and sights we were seeing. He has a great knowledge of the area and is very easy to talk to.
I would highly recommend Ian and Evers as tour guides and strongly suggest you use Barefoot as your go to service for Hopkins and Placencia
