Driver had tremendous knowledge of area. It was a rainy day so we did not explore Alexandria outside of the van. I doubt we would've had enough time to enjoy it. We could have spent the entire time at Mt. Vernon as history buffs. The museum is very thorough. He did tour around the outskirts of the national museum area to point out some of the less notable government buildings on our return trip.

The driver never arrive. They cancel one our after the meeting time. They said it was close. I review it and it was open

Robert was a great guide and communicator and a former history teacher to give us the back stories to Washington and Mt Vernon.

Frank our driver was excellent and knowledgeable sharing many of the historical and current details of the area. The tour of Mt Vernon was very busy but I found the Mt Vernon staff very accommodating and informative. The mansion and grounds are well preserved and provide some insight to the way of life 200+years ago. Impressive.

This trip was so incredible! The price is such a fantastic bargain when you consider they take you from the rally point in DC, all the way to Mount Vernon and back, plus it includes admission. The guide was great, all along the bus ride, when we stopped at Christ Church in Alexandria, and when he led us into Mount Vernon and the surrounding grounds and down to the tomb. When you are at Mount Vernon, there is a very nice outdoor area to buy a sandwich and sides and a drink, or you can eat inside from a similar menu. Looking at the Potomac river from the back porch of Mount Vernon, the same way George Washington did, is priceless!

The new museum was excellent. I wish we had more time to spend there. It was disappointing not to be able to go into the mansion. We should have been told in advance that it wasn't open and the price should have been discounted. The guide was excellent - very knowledgeable.
