We had a great time on this tour. We went in early September and the colors were changing. It turned out to be more of an adventure than we expected with the muddy Dalton Hwy! Our tour guide, JJ was very knowledgeable, informative, entertaining and a safe driver.

We booked this tour with two other couples as part of a pre-cruise land tour. Our driver, Sabreena, was absolutely the best! Not only a great professional tour guide, full of info and anecdotes, but a skilled driver. You don’t realize how ver important that part is u til you’re on the Dalton Highway. We made several stops, which were well spaced to ease our physical needs. It’s a grueling day, and that should not be taken lightly. We were at the pickup spot for 5:30 AM and returned to our hotel at 12:30 AM…as long as you understand this part you’ll really enjoy this tour. Food at the Yukon Camp was very good, and they have a small, well-stocked gift shop. Kudos to Sabreena for keeping the group engaged and informed! (There was construction on the Dalton that necessitated long waits for a pilot vehicle to escort us).

This was one of our most anticipated tours of the Dalton highway and Arctic Circle. It was indeed a tedious 14 hour trip, but worth every bit. Our guide and driver JJ WAS INCREDIBLE!! She was extremely knowledgeable, had a fantastic sense of humor, attended to every party with individual attention. Last but not the least, she was an incredible example of driving skill display!! Over those nasty dirt tracks of Dalton highway, she drove beautifully. Thank you JJ and Northern Alaska Tour company for this memorable day.

The scenery was stunning. JJ was a great guide. We learned a lot about Alaska and the arctic. The bus is comfortable and navigated the muddy, steep road well. The weather was damp and rainy but not terribly cold.

The driver Paul was very informative. I learned so much from him. The scenery, there are no words to describe how beautiful it is. The Dalton road is an experience that I will not forget. Reaching the Arctic circle was very special! I would recommend this tour.

Paul the tour guide was very informative and entertaining. The scenery was awesome. The weather changed though out the day, no snow. The Dalton road was memorable. I have now been to the Arctic circle 😊. An experience not to be missed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with our guide J. J. ! She was very entertaining, knowledgeable and personable. The stops were perfect and spaced well. The lunch and dinner stop (Yukon Camp) had delicious sandwiches and soup.

If you are in Fairbanks as a tourist you soon find that there really isn't much to do outside of the Alaska "adventure" arena. We decided months in advance of our visit to take an all day ride up to the Arctic Circle and back. We booked through the Northern Alaska Tour Company and when our time came we had a great day. Including us there were just 3 couples on this trip. JJ, our guide, doubled as driver of the van. JJ had answers for any questions and had great information about living in interior Alaska and in the Arctic, which she presented in conversational form all the way to the Circle. Since first hearing about tundra in my school days and studying it somewhat in college geography, I have wondered about the texture of the Arctic. It was great to actually feel what the turf it is like there and to our surprise to taste the in-season blueberries! It really was a great day. One caution: if you eat a filling lunch at the Yukon River Cafe you may not be ready for a dinner meal on the return trip.

Trip was an amazing experience and a great way to finish our many adventures visiting all 50 states. Our guide JJ is an absolute legend, really made the trip with her narration and back stories. Wow what a driver on the Dalton Hway. Take the trip and fingers crossed JJ is your tour guide. Cheers JJ all the best Carol and Rob H

What a great, informative trip! Our tour guide, Rob Taylor, was a wealth of knowledge about every mile of the Dawson Highway! We learned about the gold rush, boreal forest, tundra, pipeline, the animals of Alaska, the native people, and of course the Arctic. All infused with humor. Definitely recommend!!
