What to expect
Kuromon Market
After gathering at the meeting point, we'll set off on a 10-minute walk toward the famous Kuromon Market. This market is a must-visit spot for food lovers in Osaka. Known as “Osaka’s Kitchen,” the market is lined with stalls selling fresh seafood, produce, and a variety of traditional street foods. It's a vibrant, bustling area that perfectly represents Osaka’s lively food scene.
1-chōme-21-2 Nipponbashi
Our first food stop will be Wanaka, a renowned takoyaki stall in Kuromon Market. Takoyaki are crispy, savory dough balls filled with octopus and topped with a variety of delicious sauces and bonito flakes. You’ll get to sample 8 pieces for 650 yen (a perfect size for sharing among 3 people). The stall is known for its high-quality takoyaki, and this is a great opportunity to taste one of Osaka’s signature dishes.

Next, we’ll visit Mitoya, a shop specializing in dango — sweet rice dumplings served on skewers. The dango are traditionally served in three colors, symbolizing different aspects of Japanese culture. These colorful dumplings are a perfect treat, and you’ll be able to enjoy them for just 150 yen per person. It’s a light and sweet stop on our journey through Osaka’s culinary delights.
Kushikatsu Yokozuna Hozenji
Our next stop will be Kushikatsu Yokozuna Hozenji, where we’ll dive into two of Osaka's most beloved comfort foods: okonomiyaki and kushikatsu. Okonomiyaki is a savory pancake made with flour, eggs, cabbage, and a variety of other ingredients, topped with okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes. Kushikatsu, on the other hand, consists of deep-fried skewers of meat, seafood, and vegetables, coated in a crunchy batter. This restaurant offers both traditional and vegan options, making it a great spot for everyone to enjoy these hearty Osaka dishes.

After savoring some savory delights, we’ll indulge in a sweet treat at Egg Tart. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious, freshly baked egg tart, a popular pastry with a smooth, creamy custard filling encased in a crispy, flaky pastry. The egg tart is a perfect dessert to end our savory food stops, and each tart costs 320 yen per person. It’s a wonderful way to experience Osaka’s variety of street food and end our culinary journey on a sweet note.
Dotonbori
We’ll head over to Dotonbori, one of the most famous and vibrant districts in Osaka. Known for its bright neon lights, bustling streets, and iconic landmarks like the Glico Man sign, Dotonbori is an unmissable experience. You’ll have time to explore the area, take photos, and soak in the lively atmosphere of this entertainment district. From massive electronic billboards to delicious street food stalls, Dotonbori captures the essence of Osaka’s modern and fun-loving character.
Our next stop is the iconic Ebisu Bridge, located along the Dotonbori Canal. This is where you’ll find the world-famous Glico Man sign, a symbol of Osaka’s vibrant nightlife and culture. It’s a perfect photo opportunity, as the neon lights and bustling crowds create a unique atmosphere that’s distinctly Osaka. Take your time to snap some photos and enjoy the view as the sun sets and the area comes alive.
