The river cruise was a birthday gift from our son and his wife. The booking process was easy to complete unfortunately due to ill hhealth we had to pospone our first visit. I emailed the Folly Inn to explain and received a very prompt response to say it wasn't a problem and they had rebooked us as requested. When we arrived we was given a friendly greeting at reception. We sat by the river with a love cup of coffee while we waited to board. Nick was our guide and he was friendly, fu ny and very entertaining as well as very knowledgeable. There was a coupon youngster's on board and he even allowed them to steer the boat much to their delight. The whe experience was brilliant and we looked forward to returning. We had also been given a voucher for cocktails so instantly booked to co.e back for them a couple of days time. Again on our return to the Folly Inn the staff were exceptional and the cocktails were amazing. We was so impressed that we are returning but this time for the afternoon tea cruise. I would recommend anyone who loves to spend time by the river to come down and join the Oxford River Cruise at the Folly Inn. We absolutely loved it from beginning to end and the staff really made it fe special. The only negative may be is that the food and drink can be a lite expensive.

We booked this in conjunction with the city open top bus company- which was definitely a cheaper way to do them both. We booked our bus tour at 2.30pm and its valid hop on and off for 24 hours and we booked the river cruise 5.40pm ~ perfect timing as not too busy in the river then. We had Henry as our “Captain” ! He was great and told us a few stories along the way and historical facts. He took us, to what was rumoured to be, the spot on the Thames where “Oxen used to cross the Ford “ in olden days!!! It is supposed to be where Oxford got its name from! The cruises leave and return to the Folly restaurant and bar. A lovely spot for a drink on the riverside. We had a glass of wine whilst we waited and was allowed to take this with us! A very pleasant cruise indeed.

Great boatride along the river with a very enjoyable skipper Steve. Small groups, so a nice quiet escape from the busy city Centre. We followed his advice and had a nice walk to Jericho followed by a walk along the Oxford Canal.

Staff very helpful and the guide for the trip was knowledge and interesting. The trip is a gentle nice way to spend your time. Drinks available too.
